Cuisine of Finland

The cuisine of Finland is a cornucopia of summer potatoes, fresh vegetables, juicy berries, wild salmon, Baltic herring, and the ever-popular crayfish of Finland that come into season in late July and end in September in Finland.
In the late autumn, Finnish mushrooms and game become a big part of the cuisine as well.
Cloudberries, lingonberries, and blueberries are so tasty in Finland that they are frequently a desert on their own!
Winter fish like bubot, whitefish, and other varietals of the family of salmon are caught from under the thick winter ice blanketing the lakes and sea.
